Special Education Teacher - Quakertown, PA
Make a direct impact on students' lives by stepping into a Special Education teaching position for the upcoming school year! Multiple contract roles are available supporting students from elementary to high school in various special education environments. Classroom assignments include one Autistic Support position at the elementary level, one Learning Support slot at the middle school, and four Learning Support opportunities at the high school level.
These positions require a commitment for the 2026-2027 academic year, running from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027. The weekly schedule is 35 hours, with designated start and end times depending on the assigned grade level. Your expertise will help provide essential instruction, foster growth, and create supportive environments for students with diverse learning needs.
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate required by start date (sponsorship for emergency permits available if needed)
- Experience with special education populations such as autistic support or learning support preferred
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom community
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional methods for diverse learning abilities
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents/guardians
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school events
