Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities or diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong understanding of current teaching techniques and behavioral management strategies
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, families, and administrators
Main Responsibilities:
- Create and adapt lesson plans to meet each student’s needs and learning styles
- Work with students individually or in small groups to provide specialized instruction
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Regularly assess and revise IEPs to ensure academic growth
- Serve as a key resource for staff and families regarding student progress and strategies
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on multidisciplinary teams
