Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Arizona Department of Education Standard K-12 Teaching Certification required
- Valid, active fingerprint clearance card
- Previous experience in special education preferred (resource, behavioral, or adaptive programs)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adaptability and commitment to meeting students’ unique learning needs
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Deliver high-quality instruction and interventions to students in designated special education settings: Middle School Resource, Middle School Behavior Program, K-8 Behavior Program, or Elementary Adaptive Program
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to student IEPs and learning goals
- Assess students’ academic and behavioral progress, providing regular updates to parents and staff
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers
- Maintain detailed records and documentation to support compliance and student growth
- Participate in new teacher orientation, professional development, and school events
- Uphold district policies and support a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
This contract position is onsite, following the student calendar (7/29/26 - 5/20/27) and teacher orientation/training schedule (7/20/26 - 5/21/27), with a 37.5-hour work week.
