Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current and valid Texas Special Education Teacher license is required
- Experience working with elementary-age students, preferably in a special education setting
- Strong understanding of cognitive and adaptive disabilities
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to individualize instruction
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualized instruction in a self-contained life skills classroom for K-5 students
- Implement IEP goals and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Promote independence and life skills development through hands-on activities
- Work closely with related service providers, aides, and other team members to foster student progress
- Maintain accurate records, participate in IEP meetings, and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers
