Special Education Teacher - Rossville, Georgia
Step into a pivotal role supporting the growth and development of young learners within a Pre-K Special Education program. This contract opportunity is ideal for compassionate professionals dedicated to making a positive impact in early childhood education. The assignment runs from August 4th, 2026, through May 21st, 2027, offering full-time hours at 37.5 hours per week.
As an educator or paraprofessional in this setting, you will work closely with children ages 3-5 who have diverse and complex needs. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized support for students developing communication skills and independence, including assisting with toileting, feeding, and behavior management. Your expertise and commitment will help create a welcoming, structured, and nurturing classroom environment where every child can thrive.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements specifically covering Pre-K age groups
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher or Paraprofessional, preferably in early childhood or Pre-K settings
- Understanding of adaptive classroom strategies for non-verbal and low-verbal students
- Strong skills in managing challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to support physical needs, including feeding assistance and diapering/toileting
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for Pre-K students
- Promote functional communication and social-emotional growth
- Provide hands-on assistance with daily routines, adaptive technology, and self-help skills
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, therapists, and families
