Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure or certification in Special Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to tailor teaching strategies to diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Adaptability and a compassionate, patient approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans designed for students with various learning challenges
- Create a nurturing, positive classroom atmosphere that values diversity and inclusion
- Write, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure collaborative support for each student
- Track and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to maximize growth
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training to stay current with best practices
