Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students exhibiting severe behavioral needs.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other staff and families.
  • Proven ability to develop individualized education and behavior intervention plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that foster academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Employ research-based strategies and interventions to de-escalate situations and promote positive behaviors.
  • Collaborate closely with other educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff to deliver cohesive, student-centered services.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation related to student progress and incidents as required.
  • Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive.
