A Special Education Resource Room teacher is needed to support high school students for the 26/27 school year. This contract opportunity offers a structured Monday-Friday schedule, working from 7am-3pm. Located near San Tan Valley, AZ, you will work with students needing specialized instruction in a positive and collaborative environment.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current Arizona Special Education (SPED) teaching license
- ELA (English Language Arts) certification
- Valid IVP Fingerprint clearance card
- Previous experience supporting high school students in special education preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized ELA instruction and resources to students in the resource room setting
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Maintain detailed records and track student progress in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Foster a positive and adaptive environment that encourages student growth, independence, and confidence
