Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a closely related field
- Experience supporting students with varying needs and IEPs in elementary settings
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities for working with teachers, therapists, and families
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practices, compliance requirements, and individualized instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct small group and individualized instruction in a resource classroom for K-6 students
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students' unique needs and learning styles
- Manage, track, and report progress on students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure the best learning outcomes
- Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages confidence, independence, and growth for each student
- Engage regularly with families, offering updates and resources to support student progress
