About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and specialized support to students with disabilities while collaborating with families and multidisciplinary educational teams.
Job Duties
- Develop and implement IEPs
- Provide specially designed instruction
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials
- Monitor student academic, behavioral, and developmental progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Implement positive behavioral and classroom management strategies
- Provide accommodations and modifications
- Maintain accurate special education documentation
- Ensure compliance with IDEA and Pennsylvania special education requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate with the appropriate Special Education certification for the assigned position
- Completion of an approved educator preparation program or applicable Pennsylvania certification pathway
- Appropriate Special Education PK-12 or grade-level certification matching the assignment
- Knowledge of IDEA and Pennsylvania special education regulations
- Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and collaboration skills
- Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
