This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for educators eager to provide high-quality instruction and foster a nurturing learning environment for students with diverse needs. Multiple openings are available, including inclusion, SUCCESS, practical, CBT (life skills/transition), and STRIVE (self-contained behavior, autism/intensive support).
Key Qualifications:
- Current Standard Arizona Secondary Teaching License
- Active K-12 Special Education Certificate
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Experience working with students with emotional disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and other exceptionalities
- Knowledge of federal, state, and district guidelines for special services activities and documentation
- Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or willingness to participate in staff development
- Awareness of unique student needs, including at-risk populations, English language learners, and those requiring functional academics
- Able to commute within 30 minutes to key priority schools (Fairfax, Central, and Hayden)
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction in inclusion and self-contained settings
- Support students’ behaviors, social skills, and transition goals
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate effectively with department teams and participate in staff training
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to best practices
- Provide proactive support for students struggling with self-regulation and pro-social skills
Work begins with required in-service July 21-24; staff return July 27 through May 21, 2027.
