Special Education Teacher - Scranton, SC

Step into a dynamic contract position supporting students in a specialized psychiatric treatment facility serving individuals aged 12-18. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week, extending from now through June 4, 2027. You’ll make a lasting difference as you guide and inspire a caseload of 15 students, each facing unique educational and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Multi Categorical License
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification
- Proven experience managing severe and intense student behaviors
- Familiarity with modified grade-level curriculum and instruction
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate between educational and clinical teams
- Previous work in psychiatric or treatment settings preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support for students with diverse and complex needs
- Implement behavioral intervention strategies and proactively address behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with educational staff and clinical partners to develop and monitor IEPs
- Adapt grade-level materials to meet individual learning and therapeutic goals
- Maintain clear, timely documentation on student progress, behavior, and interventions
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
