In this part-time contract role, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic school community near Somerville, MA, working two days per week to provide targeted math instruction and individualized academic support.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education (SPED) teaching license with math endorsement
- Experience designing and implementing specialized math curriculum for diverse learners, preferably across multiple grade levels (K-12)
- Strong ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet each student’s unique needs
- Excellent communication skills for building relationships with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with IEP development, documentation, and compliance best practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated math lessons for K-12 students in both one-on-one and small group settings
- Collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to implement inclusive practices and accommodations
- Monitor student progress, maintain thorough records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Support social-emotional and academic growth by creating a positive and responsive classroom environment
- Assist in developing and modifying instructional materials to foster student success in math
