As part of this assignment, you will spend the full school year working in a 4th and 5th-grade self-contained classroom supporting students with Intellectual Disabilities—most functioning around a second-grade level. The class utilizes an online curriculum, and students benefit from in-class OT, speech, and social work support.
Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement in Illinois
- Experience in special education, particularly with intellectual disabilities, preferred
- Ability to work onsite and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in a self-contained 4th/5th-grade classroom
- Individualize lesson plans using the provided online curriculum
- Coordinate with OT, speech, and social work providers within the classroom setting
- Support a positive and engaging learning environment
