Looking for a new contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher? This assignment is located near Spanish Fort, AL, and travel candidates are encouraged to apply.
You'll be working in an elementary school setting that hasn't had a SPED teacher on staff for three years, making your presence especially meaningful. With a manageable caseload that’s shared between two Special Education Teachers, you’ll work with K–5th grade students and provide tailored instruction and support. The school’s goal is to evenly divide the 20-student caseload to ensure a balanced workload for each teacher. Some toileting support will be required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Educator Certification and ability to provide proof of licensure
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a school setting
- Comfortable supporting students in grades K–5 in a self-contained classroom
- Willingness to assist with some toileting responsibilities
- Travel candidates are welcome and recommended for this role
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized education and instruction for students with special needs
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with team members and families
- Foster a nurturing and productive classroom environment
- Maintain open communication with staff, families, and administration
- Ensure accurate documentation of student progress and compliance with district policies
Details:
- On-site only, at one elementary school location
- Full-time schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:45am–3:15pm
- Assignment runs ASAP – 5/26/2027
