Essential Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license
- Experience working with students in K-12, ideally in both resource and self-contained classrooms
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet a wide range of learning abilities and styles
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with fellow teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and positive student outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) according to student assessments and legal requirements
- Modify curriculum and instructional techniques to address students’ unique learning needs
- Collaborate with general educators and support staff to promote inclusive practices
- Monitor student progress and maintain documentation in compliance with local and state guidelines
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, ensuring they are engaged in their child’s educational journey
- Contribute to the creation of a nurturing, respectful, and structured classroom environment
