Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Texas Special Education Teacher license is required
- Experience in teaching or supporting students with significant disabilities, particularly at the elementary level
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and compliance with special education laws
- Commitment to differentiated instruction, positive behavioral supports, and inclusive practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work alongside parents, related service providers, and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, developmentally-appropriate life skills curriculum tailored to individual student needs
- Implement IEPs, collect data, and monitor student progress toward goals
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with paraeducators and therapists to provide comprehensive student support
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families about student growth
