Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with a Special Education endorsement.
- Experience working with students who have mild to moderate learning disabilities is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and legal requirements related to special education.
- Ability to establish rapport with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications that align with each student’s IEP.
- Assess students’ progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Work alongside general education teachers and support staff to promote student inclusion.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state and federal special education requirements.
- Communicate proactively with families, sharing progress and developing collaborative solutions.
