Responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the specific learning goals of each student
- Collaborating with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure integration and appropriate accommodations
- Creating a supportive, structured classroom that encourages communication, self-advocacy, and academic achievement
- Maintaining accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with state and federal special education regulations
- Utilizing evidence-based strategies and resources for differentiation and behavioral support
- Engaging regularly with families to discuss student progress and foster strong school-home partnerships
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with Special Education (SPED) endorsement
- Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
