This long-term substitute role focuses on early childhood special education, supporting a dedicated pre-K classroom of 10-15 students within a single school building. Key Qualifications:
- Valid certifications in both Early Childhood Education and Special Education (dual certification required)
- Experience with early childhood or preschool-aged students, especially in special education settings
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities
- Adaptable, patient, and committed to inclusive teaching practices
- Ability to collaborate seamlessly with other educators and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to meet students’ unique needs
- Develop, adapt, and implement lesson plans in accordance with IEP goals and early learning standards
- Assess student progress, document results, and communicate with families and the multidisciplinary team
- Foster a positive, engaging, and safe classroom environment for all learners
- Attend required meetings, engage in team planning, and participate in professional development as needed
This position offers full-time hours, at 37.5 per week, ensuring consistency for you and your students. Working within a single building allows you to build strong relationships and offer stability to your pre-K class.
