This full-time, onsite contract position involves general special education duties five days a week (40 hours) at a location thoughtfully matched to your expertise—whether you’re situated near bustling city areas like Charleston or beautiful coastal locales such as James Island or Mt. Pleasant.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education
- Valid South Carolina teaching license
- LD or Multi-Categorical certification required
- Prior experience working with K-12 students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive collaboratively as well as independently
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students on your caseload
- Deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of diverse learners
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, parents, and other service providers
- Track progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment
