Step into a rewarding contract position serving elementary students in a supportive educational setting. This opportunity focuses on providing specialized instruction to children with diverse needs across multiple caseloads such as mild disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, multiple severe disabilities, preschool-aged children, and emotional disturbances. Candidates will have the opportunity to express their preferred caseload for placement consideration.
This contract begins August 5th, 2026, and runs through June 4th, 2027, offering a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week during the academic year. All work is onsite, enabling you to build lasting relationships with your students, their families, and a dedicated team of educators.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching license (SC SPED LICENSE required)
- Experience or strong interest in working within one or more of the following caseloads: mild disabilities, autism, multiple severe disabilities, preschool, or emotional disturbances
- Compassion, adaptability, and excellent communication skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusive education and positive student outcomes
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to each student’s IEP
- Deliver individualized, small group, or classroom-based lessons in alignment with district and state standards
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and families to optimize students’ learning environments
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and progress reporting
- Maintain detailed and organized documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
