Behavior Coach / Behavioral Interventionist (Special Education)

Location: Surprise, AZ

Are you passionate about helping students overcome behavioral challenges and empowering educators with effective intervention strategies? We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Coach / Behavioral Interventionist to join a collaborative school team for the upcoming school year. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs while partnering with teachers and staff to create positive, inclusive learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and coach general and special education staff on evidence-based behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Conduct classroom observations, provide written recommendations, and monitor the effectiveness of behavioral interventions.
  • Assist staff with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting behavioral data to guide student support plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop proactive strategies that promote positive student outcomes.
  • Provide students with opportunities to develop and practice appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral skills in structured settings.
  • Partner with administrators, teachers, related service providers, and families to foster positive learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or Special Education with at least five (5) years of experience working with students with behavioral and emotional disabilities OR
  • Master's degree in Education or Special Education with at least three (3) years of experience working with students with behavioral and emotional disabilities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
  • Experience supporting students with behavioral and emotional disabilities in school settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, coaching, and data analysis skills.
