You'll work on-site, providing specialized instruction and care to young learners in grades K–5.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current educator certification for Special Education (must present upon interview)
- Experience teaching special education in self-contained classrooms, preferably with elementary students
- Ability to support students with a range of needs, including some toileting assistance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with fellow SPED teachers and support staff
- Flexibility, empathy, and a strong commitment to inclusive education
- Willingness to work exclusively on-site
Position Details & Responsibilities:
- Serve one elementary school with students in kindergarten through 5th grade
- Share a caseload of 20 students with a second SPED teacher—caseload will be divided to optimize individualized support
- Full-time contract, 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:45 am – 3:15 pm
- Plan, implement, and adapt instruction to meet Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Provide some hands-on care, including basic toileting assistance
- Document student progress and engage with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a safe, encouraging classroom environment for all learners
