Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Endorsement in Cognitive Impairment (CI) required
- Experience instructing or supporting high school students preferred
- Familiarity with self-contained classroom management and IEP processes
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
- Passion for fostering growth in students with diverse learning needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with cognitive impairments in a self-contained (9–12) classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Adapt lesson plans and materials to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities
- Track student progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Collaborate regularly with colleagues, therapists, and families to support each student’s success
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
- Participate fully in school activities and ongoing professional development
