Special Education Teacher in Tinley Park, IL

This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through October 31, 2026. The standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. While alternative schedules may be accommodated, remote and hybrid options are not being considered at this time. You'll work in a self-contained instructional setting—not a multi-needs classroom—with a manageable caseload of 3 kindergarten and 2 first-grade students.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience or strong interest in working with kindergarten and first-grade students
- Skill in developing and delivering individualized lesson plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering inclusion, growth, and academic success
Day-to-day you’ll:
- Create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adapt instruction based on student needs and progress
- Collaborate closely with a robust team that includes instructional-level, multi-needs, and resource-level special education teaching partners
- Work alongside paraeducator support for classroom management and student engagement
- Utilize a variety of instructional materials and resources
