Qualifications:
- Active Utah Special Education Teacher license or certification required
- Background or interest in elementary-level, K-3 special education and life skills instruction
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with varying abilities
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to fit the needs of each student
Responsibilities:
- Guide a K-3 Life Skills classroom, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to student goals and abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraeducators, and support staff
- Monitor student progress, documenting growth and adjusting plans as needed
- Engage with families, providing regular updates on student development
- Implement effective classroom management and behavioral support strategies
- Participate in school meetings, IEP conferences, and ongoing professional development
