Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Life Skills Teacher to support a K–3 classroom for the 2026–2027 school year. This role focuses on providing individualized instruction to students with significant learning needs, with an emphasis on functional academics, independence, and social-emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver life skills-based instruction aligned with student IEPs
Create a structured and supportive classroom environment
Differentiate instruction to meet a range of developmental and learning needs
Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education staff
Maintain compliance with IEP documentation, progress monitoring, and reporting requirements
Support development in communication, daily living skills, and social interaction
Partner with families to ensure consistency and student success
Required Qualifications
Active Utah Special Education License/Certification required
Experience working with elementary-aged students (K–3 preferred)
Knowledge of life skills curriculum and adaptive teaching strategies
Ability to manage a self-contained classroom effectively
Strong communication and collaboration skills
