Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Resource Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Located near Torrington, CT, this full-time role runs from August through June and offers the chance to make a significant impact across K-7th grade caseloads. We are seeking three dynamic educators: one each for Kindergarten, Grades 1-2, and Grade 7 resource/case management. Deliver valuable instruction and support to students in person, and collaborate with caring professionals dedicated to inclusive education.
Ideal Candidates Should Possess:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with K-7th grade students in resource or case management roles
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with teachers, support staff, and families
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage caseloads, data, and documentation
- Familiarity with current best practices in special education
- Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Full-time, on-site availability for the 2026-2027 school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver resource instruction tailored to student IEP goals
- Maintain accurate student records, progress monitoring, and IEP documentation
- Serve as a case manager for assigned students, ensuring compliance and advocacy
- Partner with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Foster an encouraging and developmentally appropriate classroom climate
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and planning initiatives
