Special Education Teacher | Torrington, Connecticut

In this dynamic position, you'll work a Monday through Friday schedule (32.5 to 37.5 hours per week) providing tailored support to a caseload of first and second grade students. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification in Connecticut)
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Proficiency with IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborative work with staff and families
- Flexibility and resourcefulness when supporting diverse learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction and interventions for students with a range of learning needs in the 1st and 2nd grades
- Manage and update Individualized Education Programs, collaborating closely with classroom teachers and related service providers
- Track and report on student progress, maintaining compliance with local and federal guidelines
- Foster a supportive, engaging classroom environment that encourages student growth
- Participate in school-wide meetings and contribute to a positive school culture
