Special Education Teacher - Usaf Academy, Colorado
Step into an impactful role supporting young learners as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher during a maternity leave coverage assignment spanning from August 3 to November 30. Bring your expertise to three welcoming schools across four days each week, providing targeted services and assessments on site while enjoying the convenience of completing paperwork and IEP meetings remotely. Ideal candidates will have:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (Early Childhood focus preferred)
- Previous experience in early childhood special education settings
- Strong skills in planning and delivering individualized instruction
- Confidence in conducting assessments and implementing IEPs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Familiarity with virtual tools for meetings and documentation
- Adaptability and collaborative spirit
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering in-person special education services and assessments to Early Childhood students
- Participating in IEP meetings, evaluations, and documentation (hybrid completion)
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, families, and support staff
- Providing evidence-based interventions tailored to student needs
- Maintaining up-to-date records and progress reports
- Traveling between assigned school locations as required
