Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Previous experience teaching students with a range of disabilities
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to build individualized learning plans and adapt instruction as needed
- Collaborative mindset and a commitment to inclusive education practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Assess students’ strengths and challenges, tailoring instructional strategies to maximize progress
- Partner with general education teachers and staff to deliver accommodations and modifications
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and other relevant data
- Foster a safe, encouraging classroom culture that promotes self-advocacy and independence
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and collaborate on strategies for success
