This role covers various settings, including primary, elementary, and high school, all within local schools. You'll play a vital part in fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment from July 2026 through May 2027, working closely with students in specialized and resource settings. This position requires in-person work for 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active South Carolina Teaching License required
- Special Education AND Early Childhood degree certification required
- Multi-Categorical endorsement mandatory for certain assignments
- Experience with PCD (Preschool Child Development) and various self-contained or resource classroom models preferred
- Comfortable working with elementary and high school students with diverse learning needs
- Strong collaboration skills and adaptability in dynamic educational environments
Role Overview & Responsibilities:
- Serve as a PCD Teacher, Multi-Cat self-contained educator for K-2, and EC Resource Teacher for K-5
- Provide instruction in self-contained and resource classrooms, including elementary severe and self-contained mild intellectual disabilities at the high school level
- Plan and deliver personalized lesson plans, utilizing evidence-based interventions to support individual education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain clear communication with families, support staff, and administrators
- Document student progress, contribute to IEP meetings, and participate in ongoing professional development
- Foster a positive, structured learning atmosphere for all students
