As part of a supportive four-teacher special education team, you'll have the chance to help K4-5th grade students both in a self-contained environment and through supplemental instruction for ELA and math.
Work closely with an assistant and benefit from the added guidance of an on-site special education coach who visits at least once per week to collaborate and support instructional goals. This position is crucial to the school community and offers the chance to contribute meaningfully within a welcoming team.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience with K4-5th grade students, preferably in resource or self-contained settings
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and track student progress
- Strong communication skills for working with students, parents, and fellow educators
- Collaborative mindset, willing to coordinate with the special education team, classroom assistants, and instructional coach
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for students with varied needs, both in a self-contained classroom and through resource/supplemental services
- Personalize learning and adapt lessons to accommodate different learning abilities and styles
- Maintain accurate student records and participate in IEP meetings
- Work as part of a four-teacher special education department to foster an inclusive learning community
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment in partnership with your classroom assistant
