This assignment is available for the upcoming school year and will span middle and high school ages. Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification with an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement required
- Experience supporting students with mild to severe autism and managing aggressive behaviors
- Previous middle or high school special education experience is highly desired
- Ability to quickly adapt to new settings and build rapport with students and staff
- Strong commitment to individualized education and proactive behavior support
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students with autism
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Conduct regular assessments to track student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Collaborate with parents, counselors, and other educators to optimize student outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all district and state requirements
- Support students in both academic and behavioral growth throughout the contract period
