High School Special Education Teacher | Warren, Michigan
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a resource room setting. This contract position offers both full-time (40 hours weekly) and part-time (20 hours weekly) schedules, beginning September 8, 2026, and offers flexible options for those seeking AM or PM shifts. You will play a key role in providing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral interventions for students, helping them thrive both in and out of the classroom.
In the full-time role, you'll work with a caseload of approximately 14–20 students, focusing on either 9th grade or 10th–12th grade groups. If part-time is a better fit, you’ll support around 10 students and have a schedule that accommodates your needs, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
- Experience in special education is preferred
- Michigan Special Education Certification is desirable, though open to candidates with substitute SPED certification
- Passion for supporting academic progress, social-emotional growth, and behavioral development
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted academic instruction and interventions in a resource room environment
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral support strategies
- Foster positive, inclusive, and supportive learning spaces
