Special Education Teacher | Warwick, Rhode Island

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience working with K-12 students requiring individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong understanding of different learning needs and ability to tailor instructional methods
- Effective communicator with staff, students, and parents
- Comfortable with both in-person and remote learning technology as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students, documenting progress and adapting strategies to maximize learning
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote an inclusive classroom
- Provide direct instruction in small groups and one-on-one settings, addressing a variety of academic and behavioral needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, sharing insights and collaborating on student goals
- Foster a positive, respectful, and safe classroom climate
- Engage with parents and guardians to reinforce student learning and ensure consistent support
- Maintain timely and thorough records to comply with state and federal guidelines
