Special Education Teacher - Waterbury, CT

This is a contract opportunity for a Special Education Teacher, providing essential instructional services during a leave coverage period. The position offers 35 hours each week and runs from mid-September to late October.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Connecticut Special Education Teacher License
- Any additional state-required certifications
- Demonstrated experience working with students with special needs in a school setting
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and the school
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students requiring special education services
- Develop, implement, and adjust IEPs in collaboration with school staff and families
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
- Track student progress, maintain appropriate documentation, and participate in meetings as needed
- Partner closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure cohesive student support
