Special Education Teacher in West Valley City, UT
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a K-3 Life Skills classroom for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, in-person contract opportunity near the West Valley City area, offering the chance to develop important foundational skills with a dedicated young learner caseload.
Your responsibilities will include delivering tailored instruction, designing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and collaborating with support staff, parents, and other educators to foster personal and academic growth. You'll have the chance to creatively address each student’s strengths and needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

Qualifications:
- Current Utah Special Education Teacher License/Certification (required)
- Previous experience working in a life skills, resource, or K-3 special education setting is strongly preferred
- Understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and legal compliance
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and adaptability when working in a dynamic educational environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students in a K-3 Life Skills classroom
- Modify and adapt curriculum as needed to meet each student’s IEP goals
- Track progress and prepare documentation for meetings and reporting
- Collaborate with paraeducators, support staff, and family members
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom culture
This contract role runs from July 28, 2026 through May 26, 2027, providing a stable and supportive assignment where you truly make a difference.
