Special Education Teacher in Westfield, MA
Special Education Teachers are needed for contract roles in Massachusetts, supporting students across diverse classroom settings. This opportunity offers the chance to work with varying caseloads in grades K-12, making a meaningful impact on student learning and growth.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Adapt lessons and modify coursework based on each learner’s unique abilities
- Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven decisions
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education License (required)
- Prior experience in a special education teaching setting preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to various classroom types
- Passion for fostering positive, student-centered learning environments
- Familiarity with state and federal special education regulations
