Special Education Teacher - Willoughby, Ohio
Step into an impactful contract position as an Intervention Specialist working in a supportive, in-person school setting providing specialized education services to students with a range of diverse learning needs. This opportunity runs from ASAP through June 1, 2027, with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule totaling 40 hours per week.
Your work will focus on two sites, supporting Pre-K and Kindergarten students at Prospect, and Grades 5–8 at Kirk. The caseload comprises students with varied disabilities, so a flexible approach and confidence working across age groups are essential.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher or Intervention Specialist licensure.
- Previous experience supporting students with a wide array of disabilities.
- Comfort delivering instruction to both early childhood and middle school students.
- Strong collaborative skills for working with educational teams and families.
- Thorough understanding of the IEP process and IDEA compliance.
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and tailored interventions for students with learning differences.
- Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Track student progress, adapting strategies as needed for academic and behavioral growth.
- Collaborate routinely with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school staff.
- Maintain detailed and timely special education documentation and student records.
- Actively contribute to IEP meetings and ensure adherence to all relevant requirements.
