This full-time contract position is designed for a Special Education Teacher eager to work collaboratively with other educators and paraprofessionals. You’ll teach and nurture a manageable caseload of 10 students, Monday through Friday, for 37.5 hours a week—helping each individual reach their full potential in and beyond the classroom.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid certification or license in Special Education (state-specific requirements apply)
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, colleagues, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualized instruction that meets the diverse needs of students on your caseload
- Collaborate closely with a dedicated team of paraprofessionals to ensure optimal classroom support
- Develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, thorough records
- Communicate regularly with parents, caretakers, and support staff to foster a team approach to student growth and development
- Promote self-advocacy and independence among students
