Step into an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher, providing vital support and individualized instruction to students within an engaging learning center setting. This contract-based opportunity offers the chance to work in dedicated Autistic Support classrooms, supporting learners' growth and development throughout the academic year. The assignment runs from August 2026 through June 2027, with consistent weekday hours from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Prior experience working with students on the autism spectrum or in a similar support environment
- Thorough understanding of individual education plans (IEPs) and ability to track student progress
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances and attend pre-assigned trainings
- Ability to work collaboratively with fellow educators, support staff, and families
Primary responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction in accordance with individualized education programs for students in Autistic Support Rooms (classroom placement may be subject to change based on student needs)
- Adapt lessons and classroom management strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Assess student progress, document outcomes, and update IEPs as needed
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other team members to maximize student achievement
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
