Step into a dynamic elementary setting as a contract Special Education Teacher, working full-time, Monday through Friday, with a dedicated group of students in self-contained classrooms. Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education for Texas (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience teaching or supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities in a self-contained classroom environment preferred
- Strong classroom management skills and knowledge of differentiated instruction techniques
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with parents, general education teachers, and support staff
- A positive, flexible attitude and a genuine passion for supporting the academic and behavioral growth of elementary students
Responsibilities:
- Teach and support a caseload of elementary students in two self-contained special education classrooms
- Design and adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning styles and IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to promote inclusive practices
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress, assessments, and behavior plans
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independence
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, classroom activities, and strategies for continued growth
