Qualifications and Experience:
- Holds a valid Illinois Special Education certification (LBS 1) and Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Fluent in both English and Spanish to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Previous experience in special education classrooms, particularly in bilingual settings, is highly valued
- Passionate about supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social development
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to accommodate various learning needs
- Foster an open, supportive classroom environment that encourages growth and inclusion
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Track student progress and maintain timely, detailed records for compliance
- Provide guidance to classroom aides and participate in IEP meetings as needed
