Special Education Teacher - Acton, MA
Step into a rewarding opportunity making a real difference for high school students as a Special Education Teacher. For the 2026/2027 school year, you'll guide and support learners in grades 9–12, playing an essential role both as an advisor and classroom leader.
This full-time contract position runs from August 24th through the end of the school year with a commitment of 35 hours per week. In this engaging inclusion setting, you'll run an advisory class and provide targeted academic support across four periods each day. As a key advocate for your students, you’ll nurture growth, contribute to individualized education programs, and foster a supportive and inclusive learning culture.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience or strong interest in working with high school students (grades 9–12)
- Solid understanding of inclusion models and academic support strategies
- Ability to write, implement, and monitor IEPs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative spirit
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advisor for designated students and run an advisory class
- Deliver academic support and individualized instruction four periods daily
- Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff in the inclusion setting
- Foster a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Develop, implement, and document IEP goals and progress
- Build meaningful connections with students and empower their academic and personal growth
