Special Education Teacher - Acton, Massachusetts

Make a meaningful impact in education supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This full-time contract position spans the full school year, beginning August 24th and extending through the end of the school year. Within an inclusive setting, you will play a multifaceted role—guiding students both in their advisory group and academic classes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as an advisor to a group of 9th–12th grade students, fostering connections and providing ongoing guidance.
- Leading an advisory class, promoting social-emotional growth and school community engagement.
- Delivering academic support to students in four periods each day, differentiating instruction to meet a range of learning needs.
- Collaborating with general education teachers to adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies.
- Monitoring student progress, maintaining documentation, and participating in IEP meetings with parents and teams.
- Creating a welcoming classroom environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Communicating regularly with families and staff to support student success and engagement.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher (or eligibility for certification).
- Demonstrated experience working with high school students in an inclusion setting.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities.
- Experience running advisory groups or similar student support programs is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A commitment to promoting positive outcomes for all learners.
