Special Education Teacher - Sacramento, California

This contract role offers a rewarding opportunity for a skilled Special Education Teacher with a passion for individualized instruction and enhancing student outcomes. Starting as soon as possible and continuing through early June 2027, you will work full-time—Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, and Fridays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. The position focuses on a high school RSP caseload of 21 students, including an IEP block and dedicated prep time.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Valid, active Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential issued by California
- Previous experience delivering specialized instruction in a high school resource support setting
- Ability to develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted academic interventions and support to students in resource support classes
- Manage and monitor IEPs, collaborating with educational teams to ensure compliance and student progress
- Use data to adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet each student’s needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and collaborative planning sessions
- Build positive relationships with students to empower learning and growth
