This full-time role supports Substantially Separate Classrooms for students in grades K-1 and 3-5 with significant cognitive and physical disabilities. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including RBTs—to provide high-quality learning experiences for students, some of whom are non-verbal or on the autism spectrum. Your dedication will make a meaningful impact in a dynamic school setting that values specialized instruction and individualized care.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Current Special Education licensure
- Experience in classrooms for students with severe/profound disabilities
- Familiarity or training in specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis (ABA), strongly preferred
- Comfort with providing toileting and personal care support as needed
- Ability to work collaboratively with RBTs and other classroom staff
- Flexibility and compassion to adapt strategies for non-verbal and/or autistic students
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized lesson plans in a substantially separate classroom setting
- Implement behavior management and ABA strategies
- Assist with personal care and classroom routines, including toileting
- Adapt curriculum to meet diverse needs and communicate progress with stakeholders
- Foster a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment
- Work onsite in close partnership with classroom staff and therapists
