Special Education Teacher - Sykesville, Maryland

As the classroom leader for a 15-student caseload in the Learning for Life Program, you’ll create a supportive and engaging learning environment at a vibrant middle school campus. From August 17th to June 4th, you’ll play an integral role in shaping a positive, inclusive educational experience for every learner.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with special needs students, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong collaboration abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Passion for individualized instruction and building rapport with diverse learners.
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiated instructional strategies.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and implement IEP goals tailored to each student’s unique needs.
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust teaching methods as needed.
- Maintain open communication with families, staff, and therapists to support student growth.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing program improvement.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic success throughout the school year.
- Uphold school guidelines and ethical standards for special education practice.
