Requirements and Experience:
- Valid NYS Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2
- Proven ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including speech, occupational, and physical therapy providers
- Strong understanding and commitment to New York State Next Generation Learning Standards
- Prior experience in preschool or early childhood special education settings is highly valued
- Skilled in supervising and guiding classroom support staff
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with therapists and educators to create cohesive and inclusive educational plans
- Deliver high-quality instruction to both integrated (18 students) and self-contained (12 students) classroom settings
- Provide mentorship and supervision to classroom support personnel
- Participate actively in professional development opportunities to stay current in best teaching practices
- Maintain compliance with all state regulations and standards
